VICTORY IN JESUS....

Death Of Satan -- By Daniel Johnston

Dropped into a satanic church one day,
My machine gun blazing, I blasted them all away

Die, die, Satan, I think your time has come
Die, die, Satan, I think you're kind of dumb

Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Die, die, Satan, I think you're gonna die

Walked right up with a machine gun in my hand,
Blasted him away, a roar in the desert sand

Die, die, Satan, I think you're gonna die
Die, die, Satan, I think you're kind of dumb

Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Die, die, Satan, I think you're gonna die

Threw a grenade right down his ugly face
Watched it explode and save the human race

Die, die, Satan, your time has finally come
Die, die, Satan, I think you're kind of dumb

Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Oh, victory... in Jesus
My saviour, forever
Die, die, Satan, I think you're gonna die

V/A SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD ON A SUNDAY MORNING - AN OESB TRIBUTE TO CREED by OESB

DOWNLOAD ZIP FILE HERE

"Hurray for a child
That makes it through
If there's any way
Because the answer lies in you
They're laid to rest
Before they've known just what to do
Their souls are lost
Because they could never find

What's this life for?

I see your soul, it's kind of gray
You see my heart, you look away
You see my wrist, I know your pain
I know your purpose on your plane

Don't say a last prayer
Because you could never find

What's this life for?"

-Scott Stapp of Creed

Creed is one of the most misunderstood rock bands of all time. Critics have described them as "taking the tackiest elements of grunge and then pumping it full of steroids and human growth hormones". Well what's wrong with that? What their detractors are missing is the deep existential crises revealed in the songs of Creed. The themes of endless despair, reckoning with God, and emerging triumphant through it all. It's all about the struggles and trials of life and how we are ultimately united on this difficult path. It's about singing with the voice of a superhuman monster - the only voice that can maybe reach the ears of our cruel God. If we can shoot lightning back His way then maybe He will take notice of our suffering. Chillwave music will never accomplish goals of this nature. God does not take Chillwave music seriously but He surely follows Creed for they are the musical choice of so many believers. True believers. The spiritual warriors of this world. There have been theories that bands like "Washed Out" psychically pre-empted the recent tsunami disaster. This was God's punishment. Creed has music videos depicting the survival of mass floods - they see the future and envision the durability of human existence in the face of extinction. We must fight God in order to survive. The human race must unite in order to overcome the challenges He will throw our way. Creed is the soundtrack to our survival - seriously "the end is near" has never been more true. 2012 is our next door neighbor. Are you ready? Are you ready? For what's to come.

"Society blind by color
Why hold down one to raise another
Discrimination now on both sides
Seeds of hate blossom further
The world is heading for mutiny
When all we want is unity
We may rise and fall, but in the end
We meet our fate together"

-Scott Stapp of Creed

THE BEGGING QUESTION:

Hey, slow it down whataya want from me?
Whataya want from me?
Yeah I'm afraid whataya want from me?
Whataya want from me?

There might have been a time
When I would give myself away
Oooh once upon a time I didn't give a damn
But now, here we are so whataya want from me?
Whataya want from me?

Just don't give up I'm workin it out
Please don't give in, I won't let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me?
Whataya want from me?
Whataya want from me?
Yeah, it's plain to see (plain to see)
that baby you're beautiful
And there's nothing wrong with you
(nothing wrong with you)
It's me, I'm a freak (yeah)
but thanks for lovin' me
Cause you're doing it perfectly
(it perfectly)
There might have been a time
When I would let you slip away
I wouldn't even try
But I think you could save my life
Just don't give up I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in, I won't let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep comin around
Hey, whataya want from me? (Whataya want from me?)
Whataya want from me? (Whataya want from me?)

Just don't give up on me
(uuuuuuh) I won't let you down
No, I won't let you down

(So hey) just don't give up
I'm workin it out
Please don't give in,
I won't let you down
It messed me up (It messed me up)
Need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me?

Just don't give up I'm workin' it out
Please don't give in, i won't let you down
It messed me up, need a second to breathe
Just keep coming around
Hey, whataya want from me? (whataya want from me?)
whataya want from me? (whataya want from me?)
whataya want from me?

FESTIVAL JAMS, PART TWO
ZZZZZZWWWWWWAAAAAANNNNNN

Corgan disclosed that things went wrong at some of the very first recording sessions. "...it was like, 'What do you mean the guitar's out of tune? What do you mean I have to be there at 11? What do you mean I can't order $100 of lobster every day?' I mean, like, bad. But it was too late. It was already public. The album was going out. So I did what I always did: Try to make the best of a situation and start covering up. Put on a good face. And honestly, I'm glad the thing didn't sell, because if it had sold well it would have been really tough. I would look like I was going to walk away from something that I'd just built."

He also stated that he can no longer listen to Mary Star of the Sea, because to him it sounds like "thousands of lies upon lies upon lies. It's a shame because there's tons of music unreleased that will just sit in a box until I can stomach it." When asked which of his two former bands would ever reform, he said, "Pumpkins. You'll never see Zwan. I'll never go anywhere near those people. Ever. I mean, I detest them. You can put that in capital letters. Bad people. James and D'Arcy are good people. They might be misguided people, but they're good people."

STONE ROSES "SOMETHING'S BURNING"
5/27/1990 LIVE AT SPIKE ISLAND FESTIVAL

via Wikipedia:
The Stone Roses' outdoor concert at Spike Island in Widnes on 27 May 1990 was attended by approximately 27,000 people. The event, considered a failure at the time due to sound problems and bad organisation, has become legendary over the years as a "Woodstock for the baggy generation". In mid 2010 footage of the concert was published on Youtube.

TONITE -- LONDON, UK -- WORLD STAGE PREMIERE OF:
++++++++++++++++++ KAMAKAZI AND THE NIGHTDOLLS

via FACTMAG:

Artch in Bethnal Green will play host to a headline show from the big-haired half of Skaters and all-round hypnagogic pop progenitor. His set will draw primarily from his most recent album, Night Dolls With Hairspray – a pulsing, synthed-out invocation of the plastic chart fodder and TV gunk of his 90s childhood; at once his most poppy and exquisitely fucked up offering to date. His video montage work ploughs a similar furrow, and some of it has previously been screened at the Rome Film Festival.

Support comes from Felix Lee and Universal Swimsuit; tickets are a snip at £6, and available here.

THE LOVELINE IS BACK ---- WAITING FOR YOUR CALL
